'10 6.4 vs '13 6.7??

I'm not much of a "poster," but constant lurker/reader...I'm in now in need of a DRW, time for the 2006 6.0 SRW to go. Thanks to the info from this site, I navigated through all the 6.0 issues (all under warranty...) and I very happy with the truck. My question:

My local dealer has two basically identical F350 DRW PSD's on the lot. CC, long bed, Lariat Ultimate, etc....
1. 2013 6.7. Nuf said. 64k list, 56k out the door with incentives/negotiated price
2. 2010 6.4, 30k miles, spotless, dealer trade, one owner, working on maintenance records (waiting to hear if it was serviced there) Probably 40k out the door (asking 43k).

Truck will be used pretty much exlusively to haul slide-in truck camper, towing 10k enclosed race hauler. I maintain rigorously and baby. I'm not interested in "mods" for "mods" sake. Currently only using an Edge programmer/monitor(EGT/oil,water temps etc..) for heavy tow option, never even used the performance tune.

I have read all I can about the 6.4 potential, issues, maintenace requirements. I knew what I was getting into with the 6.0 from this site (bought with 30k miles in 2010, now 60K.) and was prepared for it. (Thought by '06 they had sorta fixed that stuff, but whatever)

So, opinions? We're talking 16k here...

Kinda got that, but 16k can buy a lot of DPF delete kits/tuners...Truck is still under factory powertrain warranty so I would have to wait though (not getting into that with Ford)

So drove the 6.4, and got a copy of the OASIS report. I saw a brand new transmission on visual inspection, and indeed OASIS confirmed that. in 2013, the vehicle got a new tranny, a new DPF (sensor at least, it melted), new rear end gears (chunks were removed) and new lower coolant hose. Not sure what PO did this year, but all under warranty. Clean OASIS prior to this year. So would any of this stuff scare you off? Good news=all new trans/rear, Bad news=WTF? I would surely do the DPF delete/tuning after more reading, and return to stock prior to any dealer visits..Again, 16k less than the 2013...

What happened to the gears!
I was between a 2009 lariat SRW loaded 29xxx miles and a New 2012 Lariat loaded SRW

It came down to money for me. I had the warranty, etc... and with my trade- in i was looking at around 45000 out the door for the new one and 28000 for the 2009 (listed at 36000) I also preferred the interior of the 09 better. THe 12 lariat just seemed a little cheaper on the inside. Again, this is my opion..... so with the money difference i looked at if something major was to happen after my modding i had cash to bullet proof this thing and have a long lasting truck.
TO me you cant go wrong with either one. if you cant do any better then 40 on the used truck id just get the new one. i think you can do better on it.
The oasis report doesnt scare me as long as you trust the work they did to it.wouldnt hurt to find out how the gears got shredded.

Honestly I love my 08 lariat but the new lariats are so nice on the inside! An better mpg stock than our 6.4's modded. With that being said 16k could buy a lot of diesel!
