early Job 1 trans issue

Ok, got in the truck today and drove for a while and noticed my trans gauge wasn't moving off zero but my mini maxx was going crazy. After a little while longer it jumped up to normal and has been fine ever since. I assume the TFT sensor is starting to go. If I change that out I have to drop the pan so I would want to change the filter and mine has the external filter as well. I'm not sure what I need to do all this... anyone got any experience or words of wisdom on what parts I need??? Thanks

Well I called O'rielly's and ordered a Techsmart sensor and a motorcraft in pan filter/screen. I guess I will have to go to the dealership to get the fluid and I'm just not going to mess with the external filter. I've read that I need about 8 quarts of fluid

Just thought I'd let you know that my Oriellys carries the Motorcraft Mercon SP fluid for 5.99/qt. Best price I found locally and you get it right when you need it. Might be worth checking into.

Oh well. It can't be that special. I just thought it may be cheaper than the dealer.

Did you go by and get any? Just curious about price.

No I ended up just draining it into a clean bucket and pouring it back in. The dealership wanted about $7.50 a quart
