HELP PLEASE!!! 6.4 shut down n stranded

I have a 2010 F450 KR pickup n my check engine light came on today. I drove about 50 miles n came to a stop light. When I went to take off it seemed very sluggish and then the screen said "Stop safely now". I drove about 1/4 mile to where I was going n as soon as I put it in park it died. I tried to restart it but absolutely nothing when turning the key. Now the battery and check engine light are on and it makes a beeping sound from the dash...still no click or start or anything. Is my alternator toast??

A guy at work and something similar to this happen to him also on his 2010 Fx4. he was towing a 5th wheel camper and had to limp it to a dealership. Seems like it was an electrical issue with his as well, but i cant remember now.

Sounds like a charging problem. Can you check codes?

Mine did this after I bought mine. It happened right after I had the HPFP replaced. They towed it and it was some electrical pump that went bad as well. If you leave the truck sit for about an hour, she will reset and will start, but gets you only another mile or two before going in to shut down. I read something about this before on this forum, just don't remember where. Good Luck

most common is the temp sensor after the dpf. I keep spares on hand. I've gotten somebody off the side of the road before

get it scanned for codes that will help out a lot, if i were to guess i would agree with drunk on diesel, and i would say, exhaust temp sensor or egr temp sensor,

These trucks will do this for anything wrong at all and they wont let you start it until the problem is fixed. You can unplug a sensor and it do the exact same thing.
Sadly if you cant diagnose the problem yourself then you gotta take it to ford most likely.
Your engine could have been in reduced power mode when it was sluggish.
Wont go to 2000 rpm? then its probably in reduced power mode.
