Trading in 2008 with H&S dpf delete

Been a while since I have been on here, but you guys have always had good information. Have a 2008 f250 SWB with H&S DPF delete I am looking to trade. I no longer have the DPF and the dealer is telling me they can not take it unless it has a DPF. Is this true?

This all started because I started leaking oil from the front and rear cover and rear cover is a cab off job. Truck has 190k miles on it. Live in Texas

Thanks

I'm sure you could sell it and get someone to send you their stock dpf to put on your truck.

You could sell it and swap with someone with the entire stock DPF setup. I know the local dealers around here won't or can't take them in trade because of the DPF delete. Because obviously it's illegal to take them off in the first place. If the dealer wants to make a deal bad enough they will do it, and then replace the DPF system.

New car dealers will not take a modified truck, I was told IF they do they will reduce around $3,500 on the trade in. I kept mine just for that purpose.

Put an ad on your local Craigslist saying want to trade for stock parts. You could prolly make some money back from the tuner and trade. Do like 500 cash and stock parts for the delete pipe and tuner. You will find someone prolly pretty fast.

No kidding. I'd do it if he was closer.
