What is this exhaust?

Anyone have any clue what this is? It was on a firemans truck. Is there a special use for it?

Just a thought. Could it be for some sort of ventilation? Kinda looks like a tube could be hooked up to it, so you could run the engine indoors, and not kill everybody.... I have no idea, just a guess and BUMP.....

^^WHS... its made to hook up to a vent system in the firehouse. we have them in ours. local counties require them around where I am. our system is called Plymovent. all our rigs have special exhaust tips on them.
