What is a 2009 6.4 worth????

Today I was offered an F250 ext. cab short box with a blown 6.4. I don't know the whole story on what happened or why the motor blew but he said when he brought it in to get it checked out by a mechanic, the mechanic said it would cost more to fix it than what its worth. The owner said he would give it to me cheap. Very cheap. Didn't give me an exact price just said cheap. What would a 6.4 cost? Would it be a hard swap? I have plenty of time wrenching on gas engines not much experience in the diesel world. Would it be worth it?

Does it need a short block, long blink or complete engine?

put a cummins in it, perfect swap truck, a used motor at a junk yard with 85k on it is $7000 to put it into perspective. if you got the truck for around 4-5k you would be doing good depending on how the rest of the truck was doing

I know an old guy with a first gen cummins out of an '89 dodge for $1800. How much labor would be involved?
