6.4 vs 86mm 7.3

My buddy just bought a 99 7.3 with a 86? mm turbo intake/exhaust/160hp tune. Will I wax him or should I stop running my mouth now?

That's a huge turbo! lol

I don't have any experience with a modified 7.3, so I won't conjecture. But I would imagine you will be fine.

Just remember without pics or video it didn't happen!!

If he is running a S586 than you better stop talking chit. In order to spool that monster he has to have a TON of fuel as well as supporting mods. In which case that truck (if built properly and your buddy isn't blowing smoke up your azz) that truck is well north of what your tuned and deleted 6.4 is. Keep in mind that a single S586 is capable of supporting over 1400 HP and capable of moving 140 LBS/min of air when fully spooled. I would make sure he isn't feeding you a line to shut you up. But in the event he knows what he is talking about and the truck is in fact what he says it is, I would stop talking chit.

I don't get the 160 HP tune. But yeah that's a huge charger, and like Tuscany said, if he's got the fuel to spool it, you're in trouble.

Hey Nick, I "learned" something today.

Apparently you can just add a "Edge Chip" to the 7.3, turn it up to 8 and make 800 RWHP . Heard this from a guy who had a junky rusted out POS 7.3 getting fuel on the other side of the pump from me.

My 08 is stock with 6 inch lift and 35's. have messed around with my buddy's 7.3 a few times. Used to beat up on him when he had tuner and exhaust. Then he spent 3500 on larger turbo, up pipes, down pipes. Truck has 4 inch turbo back exhaust and AFE Intake. Also his truck is stock height with 31's. he has a 6 position tuner. With his tuner on stock I beat him, stage 1 I beat him, stage 2 beat him, stage 3 we are even. Stage 4,5, and 6 he spanks me.

Can't wait to put a tuner on mine and unleash the beast and quit with the regens
