Quick EGR delete question.

I am in the process of installing one on my 08 and I am hung up on the upper bolt on the horizontal EGR cooler. It seems as though it is pretty much seized on there and am wondering if a propane torch would create enough heat to be able to back it off? This is hopefully the only thing keeping me from getting this job done.

Have you tries WD-40's new rust penatrent? This stuff works great, I recently removed the exhaust manifolds from my 67 F100, first bolt I broke off then I went to the parts store and picked up a bottle of that stuff, applied it a few times waiting about 20 min inbetween coats and after about 4-5 times the nuts and studs came. I did use an impact gun though and I'm not sure if you can get one in there. I hope this helps you out, good luck.

I don't think I could round the edges. a 10mm fits perfectly but there is just no leverage that can be applied in that horrible spot. I have not tried that new wd40, didn't even know they came out with one. I was thinking about getting some pb blaster but time was running out for the night.

Try some JB 80 it's like pb blaster but a bit thicker . I had trouble with mine also. Try heat just be very careful not to overheat. I don't think a propane torch will quite get it hot enough. Map gas might help if u can get some good torches it would be better. Remember patience goes a long way

I used heat which I didn't really need I don't think. I had to take off the drivers side wheel well cover and that gave me enough room to pull with enough force to break it free. Odd thing is, my truck as of right now is no longer leaking like it was and may be leak free now. I will do some more driving to see if things stay this way.
