Remove exhaust filter and/or catalytic converter for better milage?

Has anyone removed the exhaust filter and/or the catalytic converter to try to get better milage with the 2008 F250 Powerstroke diesel 6.4?

Yep there are a lot of stories on here about it. from everything i have read they are getting so much better mileage, but you have to get a program to shut off the regen-mode.

I wonder how you would get the program to shut off the regen mode for the 6.4 Powerstroke?

I am looking at getting a new F350 Dually, If you remove the SCT for warranty work, can the computer detect it ever being on the vehicle? And is the delete pipe something you can take on and off for the same reason? Just curious, I would like improved mileage, but also enjoy a warranty from time to time.

Thanks,
Joey
