XRT PRO question.

Ive checked the forums search already and cant seem to find the right answer im looking for. We are leaving tomorrow on a 900 mile trip to N.C from Florida. Im currently running 4" straight pipe with my XRT on Mild setting stock with my low boost at 3. I hear about people running on HD300 for the best highway mileage. On the setting I have now im only getting around 16-17 on thw HW. My question is for you guys running HD300 are you putting the power level all the way to performance mode on HD or HD and leaving it on stock. since I updated all the terminology has changed on the programmer.

Thanks fellas

yeah the old update use to be easy mild wild and hot and now its stock, tow, street, and race i think.

typically with the tune turned up and light foot will net better gas mileage. my problem is when you turn it up, the pedal is so touchy its hard not to romp on it. I run the HD tunes but will it on tow all the time and its where i see the best due to me controling my foot better.

yup.. stock, tow, street, performance..

i run the hd300 daily, almost exclusively the tow setting..

a couple weeks ago I made a run of about 350 miles each way, unloaded there, loaded back.. summer blend fuel rocks!! I managed damn near 20mpg empty, and a touch over 16mpg with a decent load chasing me..

these diesels love a constant engine speed, and their economy really shows when you can settle in for a long haul.. if you're getting 16-17 mostly hwy, you should see nearing 20 ALL hwy, especially since there is no elevation changes to speak of (unless you're going west of Charlotte or Wilksboro in NC)..
