Need Opinions On New Truck

i am very seriously looking at buying this truck if i can get financing. supposedly the guy used it to pull his horse trailer to shows down in texas and over to colorado which is why the mileage is on the higher side for a 2010. i really like it, but i am looking for opinions from seasoned 6.4 owners. it looks to me like it already has an H&S Black Maxx on it, which i consider a plus as long as it hasnt been beat. So any thoughts?

An Oasis report shouldn't cost anything, if you have a good dealer.

As for the Black Maxx, I'd say it's only a good sign if the DPF is gone. It has an aftermarket exhaust, at least at the tailpipe, so there's a good probability that the DPF has been removed. If the DPF is still there, that's a lot of miles of regen on that engine. It seems strange that they don't have any pics of the engine on their website. Maybe it's missing some unnecessary emissions components and they don't want that fact public. Who knows.

It's a sharp looking truck. It looks like it has Weathertech floor mats, but they don't fit the best, so they might be for an older truck. It has a brake controller, tow mirrors, navigation and sync, which are all nice. No upfitter switches, but those can be added if you want them. The leather on the drivers seat looks a little rough. The tires look new, but it looks like they say Dynatrac on them. I've never heard of that brand, but I'm sure someone has.

All in all, it looks like a good truck, and a fair price from a dealer. Maybe you can talk them down a bit. Winner is about 3 hours west of me, but kinda out in the middle of nowhere so I don't get out there much.

well it looks like the Dynatrac tires are made in China, i wish they were something else. it is not a deal breaker for me though. Anyone else have anything?

well the sales manager gave me the phone number of the guy who traded the truck in. i called him and he said that he tuned and deleted the truck at 30,000 miles. He said he changed the oil every 5,000 miles and did the fuel filters twice a year. He said the only problem he has had with it was 6 months before he traded it it had a cracked #4 piston that was replaced at Ford. i think that is what pushed him to get a new truck. I thought it was pretty sweet to be able to talk to the guy who used to own it. if everything works out. and if the Oasis report matches what he said, i think i am going to buy it.
