Job #2 Build or Job #3 Build?

Hello everyone!

My first post up on this site and I must say I've been reading every post I can get my eyes on and learning a great bit. GREAT INFO. I am about to pull the trigger on a new 08 King Ranch F-350. My dealer located one that is a Job #3 Build. I know this is the most up to date release, but what is the differance between a Job #2 and a Job #3?

Thanks
Brandon

I think the 2 things that I heard of was, 1. The larger front air valance below the bumper, and 2. Different gearing. Not quite sure on the second one.

Anyone else know?

Oh, sorry, and

Sorry for the ignorance, but what are vacuum brakes and how do they differ from the previous type?

I think the rear video camera (with the screen in the rearview mirror) is a Job 3 addition, too.

No, the camera is on Job#2.

I have one.

Where F350 and F250 recent trucks get their power brakes from the power steering pump, job #3 is to have a vacuum assist.

Also job3 makes the 3.55 rear end standard with the 3.73 still an option.

I got a job #2 in order to keep the brake system that I believe will be more reliable.

Some here have refused to believe the the vacuum brake is on the job #3, but I saw a Ford brochure that described it in greate detail.

It also said that the F450 and 550 would retain the present system that works off the steering pump and that made my mind up. It has to be better if it is on the trucks doing the heavy hauling.

The brochure said that it was decided to change to the vacuum system to make a more car like feel.

I would guess that someone wanted to make it easier for the ladies to swap back and forth between their car and the truck.

I sure do like mine. I don't see how it could be any better.

Hi, welcome to the forum. I only heard about the rear end gear option and larger front valence air dam. I know the reverse camera is on Job 2 but this post is the first I've heard of the vacuum brakes.
