These high EGT's worry me

Truck is a 08. Studded and deleted with a 5" exhaust, XRT Pro. I'll add that to my sig. Anyways I've never had this truck at the track and am going at the end of June here in Albuquerque. I just down loaded the H$S HD tunes and set it at Performance. I think this is the 300 tune. Anyways a good friend of mine has a 2010 vette stock. He wanted to see how fast my truck was after the recent upgrades I had done. We hit a side road with no one on it. Took off at around 10 mph and I jumped first. This put me about a full truck ahead. I let off around 95 because of my EGT temps 1700. He was slowly pulling even with me, and about to pass. I was happy with the outcome and knew he would pull me up high. Now i'm afraid to make a full pass at the track. I've done a lot of research on this and my EGT's seem to be inline with others but it still worries me. I'm going to upgrade the intercooler and pipes and was thinking of putting a water/meth kit on the truck just to lower the EGT's. What are your thoughts?

Ive never done a 1/4 run so I don't know what guys see in those situations but 1700 seems way high to me. My defuel is at 1450, and I cringe to see it that high.
Also an easy upgrade is a 4" DP if you haven't already done it. I saw a good 150+ drop in my everyday egts after I installed mine.

2008 (Job 1) F250 King ranch 4x4, snow plow prep package with 2.5 level. Black Maxx, B&W Diehard platinums. Dieselsite coolant and transmission filters, NCU Motorsports/amsoil oil bypass kit. Turbo blankets, 5.5 PMF traction
Please collect and message me Shell, Rotella oil cap codes aka "my miles matter" I'm trying to save up for a hat or something.

I'm running Spartan 310 and have the alarm set for 1450. I have gone over many many times and sometimes kept going for about 10 to 15 sec. because of highway races. I know the inevitable is going to happen but my truck has held up well. All in all....1400-1450 is not bad from time to time. When running at the track....depending on who much I boost launch, I'd say I'm over 1450 for about 5 sec. per run. I know Spartan 310 tune runs a little lean so it helps keep the temps down. I dont know about H&S tunes

Personally if I had to break my truck to beat a vette I would. I have a spare.
