Lookin to buy an 08, help plz!

I'm goin to go look at a few 08s this weekend and was wanting to know what things I should be asking about and what to look for. I bought a 6.0 without askin questions first and didn't want to run into that mess again lol. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

Job 1, 2, and 3? If you don't know what that means, search and read! As long as all TSB's were preformed, you should be good.

coolant

an oft overlooked thing is coolant condition even tho oil, fuel, air filters are done on time. if you are shopping at a dealer over the w/e oft as not the service side is closed so you cant get them to stick a test strip into the degas/coolant bottle. coolant service requirements are shown in the service manual but there is no where that tells you to check nitrite levels with the test strip.....I needed a complete flush at 15000 miles...kinda peed me off... figured ford should have taken care of it it can be expensive to make o.k. especially if you are looking at a full flush.

The 6.4 basically has the same common failure points as the 6.0 - if you've been thru that already, then you know what to look for. I also concur with looking into if it's a Job 1, 2, or 3. Personally, I wouldn't buy a 6.0 without studs... and I feel the same way about the 6.4, especially since it's very easy to make crazy power with them.

Not sure about the emissions laws in Indiana, but another thing that would be a big plus to me - would be if the truck had the all of the appropriate deletes and an H&S Minn Maxx programmer on it. (The H&S Minn Maxx isn't a necessity, but that would be a huge plus) - However, my goals for getting a 6.4 would be to make power. Not sure what yours would be. Good luck with the hunt!
