Ok I'm new to the powerstrokes. So if I buy a h&s programmer how much more money will I have to spend to do the egr and PDF delete. And I guess the programmer needs to be able to do those deletes right. Any info is helpful. Thanks

The egr delete is probably around 250 ( you may be able to find one a bit cheaper ), the delete depending on which way you go would be probably under 200 for just a delete pipe and maybe around 4-500 for a dp back exhaust. This would be just the parts and doing it yourself. Labour of a shop doing the work would obviously add a bit to the cost.

I can't compare it to anything except an edge evolution and it is definitely a better tuner than the edge, although I did use the edge for 35,000 trouble free kms. There are a ton of people also using spartans which is a very popular option as well, I would say the same popularity as h&s. They both seem to make top notch products so it just depends on which options appeal to you. You won't go wrong with either.

Spartan or H&S or SCT with custom (ie gearhead or innovative tunes).

Just make sure with the H&S you get the race version. Not the 'street' version.

If you buy a used H&S Race what are the costs to have it reprogrammed?

Specifically IF the prior owner removed the tune before getting rid of the truck? and IF they didn't?

If you purchased an H&S RACE tuner, then yes the tuner will support a delete. If you bought the H&S Street tuner, no it won;t delete.

H&S will not unlock any of the race tuners. If you buy a used race tuner, make 100% sure it is unlocked from the previous vehicle, otherwise, you have a pretty paperweight...
