Oil Change Distance

How long are you guys running on synthetic oil?
I do 5000 miles of 30% city 70%hwy with only light occasional (500 miles or so under 8K). I only run Royal Purple with stock filters in mine.

are you getting oil analysis done from Blackstone? i use standard oil and my blackstone reports looks great. They're telling me i should be able run my oil 7500 miles.. but i keep it @ 5000 for piece of mind.

Blackstone will send you a sample kit for free.

I'm running T6 Rotella and stock filter along with blackstone analysis I'm up to 12.5k miles. I recently added a bypass filter kit that runs an amsoil filter.

If you have your DPF system intact I would not go over 5K miles, regardless of what oil you use.

I oil tested my truck 3 times in 30K miles of driving. The only time I was satisfied with the analysis was when I used regular 15w40, to keep the cost down, and changed the oil after 4K miles. I have since removed the components that are the hardest on our oil system and an will retest after 5K miles. I am betting I will be able to work up to 7K mile changes like on my 7.3 now. I bet the other guys above did the same thing to wait so long between changes.

Yes. Stock don't pass 5k, probably even better around 3k. Modified (ie the deletes) do oil analyses to figure out what your particular engine can run. Blackstone tells me I can run a little over 18k based on my oil life, but I change at 7500.

Rotella T6. Black stone said at 7500 miles I had 70% life left. Doesn't mean I wanna actually run that long tho.

70% left at 7500 miles is crazy. I don't think I could do more than that... Blackstone is telling me to run my oil for 7500 and I'm not using synthetic. I keep it at 5k miles for piece of mind. I'm also not running synthetic.
