Single turbo?

My buddy has a 08 6.4 that he wants to single turbo. He has a h&s programmer, all the deletes, and exhaust. Is there any benefit for a single turbo or is it just a stupid idea? I don't know much about the 6.4s and just wondering your guys opinions.

Single turbo?

I think Jeff from Spartan had a single turbo for a little while. Not sure if he still does or not. There are a few guys that have the single. I don't have any first hand experience with it, so hopefully Jeff or one of the other single turbo guys will chime in.

Thanks! Ill wait and see who chimes in, he wants me to do the work to it but I don't wanna do all this work to his truck if its a pointless mod. He's pretty dead set on it now but I don't know the amount of research he's actually done

Single turbo?

YouTube 6.4 with single turbo. They do sound pretty sick. That's the one thing I really hear complaints about with the twins is that it doesn't have the whistle of old... Single turbo 6.4s whistle like crazy.

Jeff hasnt ever had a single turbo. And what does he want to do with the truck? MPD makes good kits, but your ability to tow can drop off fast

It's just his daily driver, he doesn't really tow at all, one of the big reasons he told me he wants to do it is for the whistle. I think the turbo is the last thing hell do to it, he doesn't want to build it too much

Do it for the whistle? Wow, yeah I think I would spend $4500 on a kit PLUS the labor just for whistle. Tell him to do it

That's what I'm saying, it's his money and he is gunna pay me to do it, if he does do it. I'm against it but not my truck. I was just wondering if there was any performance improvement from doing it
