Take off the part where the tailer plugs in to. Sometimes water gets in there and corrodes it. Clean it out and reasemble with dielectric grease. I had the same problem but mine only happened when a trailer was plugged in.

i get this message every time i turn the key on.. very annoying.. but it doesn't cause any issues with the truck or the functionallity of the integrate trailer brake controller or the lights on the trailer or anything. When i comes on.. i just hit the reset button and it goes away until i turn the truck off and back on again. I've checked fuses, wiring, connections, master cylinder connections.. I cant find anything wrong. my tuner doesn't show any codes, but i have a feeling it could be one that it doesn't pick up. and i'm not taking it to the stealership for them to charge me lord knows how much to diagnose something thats not affecting the truck that much. let me know if you figure this out.
