Good Fuel Mileage

Best mileage I've had since owning this truck is 17.6 mpg. That's driving 75% highway mostly around 70mph. The cool dense air (50-70*)of the "winter" makes a huge difference. Ford cetane booster also improves mileage.

Got 17.5 mpg on the next tank. Every week I drive pretty much the same. Haul 3 loads make the front end a little light and trailer a bay boat. This tank I got stuck in traffic a bit more. Also I SELDOMLY go beyond half throttle. Most of the time I'm in 1/4 throttle or even less. Drive with my big toe haha.

The most recent tank I was stuck in traffic even more and towed the boat a bit further. 16.5 mpg isn't bad at all. I think 400 miles is the farthest I've ever gone in a tank.

Some observations... the lower the biodiesel content the better the fuel economy. Also Power Service Cetane booster/cleaner sucks! Ran a gallon jug from I think from Dec- Feb and my mileage dropped. I have receipts to prove it. IMO same as going without fuel additive.

Hope this helps in some way. Happy motoring.

I got 19.5 once, but that was in a blizzard going 45-50mph through most of a tank. Usually got 15-17mpg regardless of if I was towing anything. I switched to the Wild tune on my Minimaxx now, and I think I've actually jumped to about 18-19mpg going 70mph.

Haha, that gave me a good laugh. Thanks for sharing your results with different products.

DK seems to work alright in my truck. Can't tell if I get better or worse MPG, but I feel like the added lubrication might be beneficial enough. Anyone out there done a more recent test than the one that was posted 5 years ago for the best additive?!

I like the Wild 250 HP tune for the summer. Too bad it's not available with a touch of a button on the 300 HP.

Try Ford Cetane and see if it makes a difference. Maybe it's just my truck. Only 16.1 mpgs in ideal driving conditions and 80% highway driving with Power Service.

Drove to Aransas Pass today to pick up a boat. Windows cracked, mid 70*s, 70 mph and got 17.8 mpg. Thought I'd do better but that's the best so far.

Pulled a 24 foot bay boat back. Windows rolled up, A/C on, mid 80*s, had to floor it a couple times (some bad drivers, actually hit defuel a couple times from boost) and took the scenic route (was actually shorter by like 20 miles). Netted 12 mpg.
