Thanks for the video. My truck went in for warranty a few months ago and I to,f them about the tensioner squeaking and on the reciept it says tensioner was replaced but it still squeaks. So I guess I'm gonna be tearing into it myself soon before I get stranded

I believe in doing it right! I am a Ford Tech and I work on these everyday so I am not a shade tree. This is the correct way. Thanks for watching though!

Oh yeah you have to change the belt and tensioner together if they didnt theres your problem. There have been multiple belt revisions, tensioners coming apart as in video and certain build dates even get an updated idler pulley all for this chirping noise.

On a side note when the roller lifters start to fail on this engine they sound just like a belt sqeak. Only way to tell is pull belt and run engine to verify sqeak is gone or not. Roller lifters spitting out needle bearings on these is becoming all too common with the miles starting to be racked up over time on the 6.4's out there. Something to keep in mind!

I don't see how getting the belt changed and the tensioner without removing a whole bunch of stuff is doing it wrong. Ford tech here as well btw
