hydro boost leaking

truck is in the shop for a once over look while they fix the front end issues- he just reported back that the hydro boost is leaking.... how expensive is this to fix?

apparently its a common issue. mine was replaced under warranty at 29k miles

there was a TSB for a bushing.. i found out too late after blowing mine and loosing al brakes and steering while turning a corner.. with 38s at the time it made for a fun time

its not hard at all to do.. didnt take long at all, just buy the part and do yourself

mine is an 08 with 95k on the clock so i dont think any warrenty still exists.....

Ahh. The TSB I posted wld already be done then as I think 06 or 07 up trucks got the new bushing at the factory so prob not ur issue.

Mine is leaking too. Slowly but surely. I just keep the power steering system topped off with Mercon V and deal with the oily spot on my driveway. I'll fix it one of these days, but it's cold out right now. I don't drive my truck everyday, so it doesn't leak very fast. It's definitely worse after pulling a trailer though.

Once it warms up a bit outside I'm planning on pulling mine off to see if it's repairable. I'll fix it if it is and buy a new one if it isn't. I'm expecting it to take a week or two by the time I get all the parts figured out, so I'll have to do it during a period that I won't need my truck. I'm under the impression that the actual swapping out of the booster can be done in under an hour though.

If you buy it new it's roughly a $300-$400 part , depending on where you get it, so it's not a real cheap repair. I'm not sure I'd trust a rebuilt one though.

Ditto, mine is bad on my 2010. I'm going to get mine replaced under warranty....one of these days.
