Best upgrades for life of the truck

Howdy all,

occasional poster. Questions for the throng if you will indulge me.

Have an '08 F-250 crew LB 4x4 w/160kmiles. purchased 14 months ago w/125k.

It is a plain jane XL version.

It WAS stock.

I did a DPF/CAT delete + H&S XRT tuner. I have an Edge CTS for gauges.

I run the hot damn tune because I was told on this forum that (+ light foot) would get me the best MPG.

I also have EGR delete kit (still have to install) and a coolant filter.

The truck has a new radiator as well - stock - to replace leaky old one.

I currently get about 16 city and better than 20 on the highway, so I'm pretty happy with the MPG.

What I want to know is this... What things should I be putting on my upgrade list to bulletproof this truck so I can get half a million+ miles out of it.

I primarily use this truck as a commuter - only because I need a truck around the farm and for the house I am building, and I can't afford a separate commuter car. It also hauls the family on vacation.

but time to time, I load it down to full weight on trailers and bed for construction material and rental equipment, backhoes, tractors, plywood, sheetrock etc.....

So, where should I start on a list of upgrades I can slowly start adding to extend the life of this truck. I like the better performance from the tuner, and don't mind making it even better, but my primary concern is making the truck as solid and dependable / worry free as I can get it (and yes, i do regular good maintenance).

So, what would you put on, and why, and in what order?

I can probably afford to drop about 2k per year on upgrades - If I can make the truck last 10 years, that's still cheaper than new trucks, since I only paid 16k for this one, and it's in good shape.

Thanks in advance for sharing your wisdom.

Oh, and while it is a 250, I wouldn't mind upgrading suspension in mild fashion since I do on rare occasion haul heavy loads - are there any reasonable upgrades to make it more of a 350'ish truck? Not looking for lifts, just heavier loads

Ben

For the towing heavy part, best system would be air bags. You won't sacrifice your current ride and when it's time, press a button or fill manually and it's ready to handle heavier loads.

Thanks for the thoughts Travis.

Any other recommendations out there?

I'm kinda stunned by the silence.

Am I not cool enough for you guys and your upgrades?

Not trying to be feces, but it's probably because most of your questions are addressed in the sticky at the top of the forum. It's a good thread to read for sure.

Thanks! If there are any questions that weren't addressed in that thread, feel free to post them in this one or that one as I continually monitor it and try to update it to be current and as helpful as possible.
