Squealing wont stop
Ok...so I re greased the hubs and when I go into 4X4 I still get this squealing noise from the front. I sounds like it's coming from under the truck. Is there a carrier bearing for the input shaft up front? Are there bearings in the axle close to the hubs or are they floating axles? There is diff fluid so thats not it. I have to go in and replace my rear input shaft seal on the rear axle this week cuz that is leaking. Should I replace that bearing also? How hard is that job. I'm pretty good at mechanics so I'm not taking this thing in for work! Uhg.....The comforts of buying a used truck.

Is it your front hub assembly? My 2000, both went within 6 months of each other, sqealing from the front end.. They were'nt greaseable, just replaced them.

Now when I put it in 4 wheel there is a humming/grinding sound. Cant tell if it the transfer case or front axle. It wont make the noise in 4 wheel on a lift though.
