Trans fluid change

Anyone have any tips on changing the trans fluid on the 6.4? I see there is a drain plug and was unsure if its just that easy or what. Temp is fine (according to mini maxx) and have about 60,000 on the current fluid (was changed when purchased) shifts fine, just want piece of mind.

You can either drop the pan and change the fluid or take it to the dealer for a heated flush. I just drop the pan and change the fluid every year. Its probably overkill but it a nice piece of mind.

Are there any filters to change? Just the pan gasket?

Yes there is a filter to change when you drop the pan. Since you have a job 2 there is no external filter on your truck.

How much fluid gets changed with a pan drop? Does the pan have a reusable gasket?

Re: Trans fluid change

8-9 quarts and I have reused the gasket. I just put a tad bit of gray rtv on it also.
