Will 05 front locking hubs work in my08?

I have a buddy selling 05 hubs for cheap no truck any more and they are locked and free not locked and auto and I'd rather have them will they work or not?

Yes, same hub just manual locking not vacuum.

So i just take mine out slide his in and bolt it back down with the 3 torx bit bots....

I remember back in the day it was popular to switch out the auto hubs with manual for fuel mileage. Does this still hold true today or is this just a old myth?

No difference in fuel mileage. The Auto hubs are still unlocked when not in 4x4.
