Biodiesel
If the mpg are going to be in the gutter, is anyone making their own biodiesel. At what I'm hearing of 50 - 80 cents per gallon, I don't care what my mpg would be! Any experience with 6.4 owners....Ive been doing quite a bit of research on making it, would love to, but curious to how it's running in the new trucks....b5, b10, b50, b100 etc.... Any real world testing would be a huge help.

check with Ford before using bio if you have a warranty. if u go over a certain percentage, Ford claims it'll void the warranty.

freetobe,
I'm glad to hear i'm not alone on the idea. I understand there are issues with deposits and buildup in fuel systems causing clogs blah blah, have you had any other issues that you can directly relate to the change in fuel, and how long and what percentage are you using.. not considering cost of equipment and overhead, just direct cost of materials going into the mixture, would it be reasonable to expect lower than $.80 / gallon? sorry for all the questions. |
