6.4 vs 6.0

just wondering how the new superduty 6.4 compares to the old 6.0l i know the mpg is down due mostly to the dpf and all that but drivability, power, turbo lag? is the new truck far ahead of the old ones?

I would have to say yes, and my mileage is making an increase slowly. Started out at 13 mpg and now with 6,700 miles on it, I'm seeing 17 mpg, figured by hand, but matching my readout on the dash. The quietness is the biggest difference I notice, but the torque hits low and is smooth in delivery. A chipped 6.0 still has it beat with power, but not stock. The ride is better also, but there's no mistaking that it's a truck thank goodness. We have every domestic dealership in our framework, so I've compared it against the Dodge and Chevy and I'm still glad I bought the Ford.

I agree with Triton.....the 6.4 doesn't have the snap your neck power like the 6.0, but chipped 6.4 pulls hard through the whole RPM band, so the snap your neck really isn't there..if that makes sense
