Question Air filter restriction indicator

Hi everyone,

On another 6.4 board, there are reports that the air flow restrictor indicator on your 6.4 air filter housing is showing major yellow if not already touching the red line (for replace filter). Someone claimed to have reset the indicator and got immediate performance increase and the air filter was fine. I don't know that for a fact, just passing on a synopsis of the post.

Having read that, I checked my truck. It has 7700 miles on it and the air flow restrictor indicator was almost touching the red as if it was time to replace my filter. I'll check the air filter tomorrow in the daylight but it should not even be close to being clogged to restrict air.

Not trying to cry wolf or start unnecessary panic and pandemonium, but can a few of you check your indicators and your air filters and post if they're in the yellow or if the indicator notes you are at the red line for replace?

The question I have is, could we have an air flow restriction in the design -and- does reseting that indicator do anything to the computer to improve engine performance?
