change out fan clutch big job?

I have an 08 with the snow plow package and hate the overactive fan clutch. I was thinking about changing it out for a regular clutch.
Just wondering how big of a job this is. Are there any techs on here that has changed out a bad one or anyone else changed their own?

its a shame that nobody on this entire site couldn't help out. i'd be interested in hearing what you ended up doing. I'd think that i should have been possible to have fan reprogrammed.

I had my fan belt and tensioner pulley changed out on my truck under warranty. I didn't see it apart, but by the marks on the bolt heads it looked like everything from the front intercooler to the radiator was removed. I had to complain about the belt squeeking twice before they fixed it. I don't blame them it looks like a real pain!!!

It's about a $600.00 job.
I had mine done under warranty because it was bothering me too. I explicitly told them I wanted the snow plow fan GONE.
Guess what the techs did?
They installed another snow plow fan.
I had a mild melt down while they look at me wondering what a snow plow fan was. Just a part number to them.
Ya gotta watch and think for everybody these days...........
So, it's still on off on off on off.
