whats it worth!? help! PICS!
Hey guys, brand new here, and brand new to the diesel world, so excuse me if I sound ignorant. I'm sure its been beaten to death on the forum, but i need to know what you would VALUE the truck at? I'm considering picking up a black 2008 crew cab short box lariat 6.4l, and after doing some reading and searching, it seems as if some of these trucks are hit and miss. The reason I ask is because I have the opportunity to pick this truck up for a good deal, but will have zero money to put into it. Here is how the truck sits, and what it has had done to it. Would you guys steer clear or pull the trigger? It has 203k miles, but had a rebuild and was bulletproofed at 187k. The original owner who did all the work owned a company and all the miles are highway miles traveling to and from his different sites...

He's asking 24k, which i know is steep. But it'll be a trade for my G8 GT worth 18k or so.

Very pretty truck. Is this at a dealer or private? You said it was a fleet truck? What kinda work did the truck do?

I actually dont think its that high at all.
You have to remember, even thought its at 200K. Its had a complete engine rebuild, suspension and brake rebuild. That leaves the drive axles, ac, starter, alt, fuel system and Trans as the only major wear compenents to fail down the road. 24 is a pretty fare price as ive seen plenty of 150K + trucks selling for that and theres no rebuilt engine. Just the upgraded on that truck for the serive are a solid 12-15K I would do the deal for 24 if thats the bottom price. You can always ask for 22 or something but in all honesty 24 isnt that bad. You better start saving 3K for a trans and put a 1K aside for fuel system repairs later because im sure those will be the next to let go. |

Who did the rebuild also..was it some drinkin buddies or actual good mechanics |

Does it have the elite valvetrain upgrade and the international pistons? Also as stated above did a good mechanic do the work?
