Well a couple of weeks ago i purchased an 08 F-250 King Ranch with 23,000 miles on it that has a salvaged title in San Diego California, mind you I live in North Dakota haha!
On Friday My girlfriend and I flew out to get the truck and after many delays we were on our way to Vegas to spend 2 nights.... arriving at about 8PM Friday! Having a close friend that is an executive casino host is a real bonus when trying to impress the girlfriend
After leaving Vegas and getting the truck on some open road in Utah (80mph speedlimit is amazing!!!) I was truely impressed how much power the truck has, it seems to have way more than my 08 f450 did, but maybe thats the gears as other than that the truck is bone stock.
We decided to Bunk up for the Night (sunday) in Pocatello ID and woudl drive the remaining 700+ miles home on Monday. Well Monday morning was a cold one in Pocatello.... Somewheres around -14 so i decided to start the truck a good 30 minutes before we left.... Come time to leave and the truck is still very cold inside... However all the gauges look normal and I decide we will get out on the interstate to get it warmed up.... BIG MISTAKE!!!
I drove about 15 miles on the interstate before we froze off every piece of available flesh and the temp gauge started rising!!! I was able to find the Nearest Ford dealer back in Pocatello, Courtesy Ford, and limp it back to them.... The Shop was AMAZING!!!
Just as I had thought it wound up being a stuck thermostat, but the radiator also needed replacing as it had developed a sizeable leak that I did not notice while in California. After spekaing with the Technician he also decided that he would take a look at everything else and let me know anything else that needed to be serviced. as it would turn out my power steering cooler was "jerry rigged" back together and was also starting to leak, and the front end needed 2 new seals, as it was also starting to leak gear lube.
The shop got me all fixed up around 4:00 PM (central Time) Monday Afternoon and once we got fueld up and out of pocatello it was around 4:45 PM. I pushed the truck fairly hard and managed to make it back this morning at about 3:00AM Central Time

(here i sit at work at 8:00 AM HAHA)... I cannot speak highly enough of the dealership in Pocatello they were phenomenal and even though they did not have to they gave me a 15% discount, not like I will be a repeat customer as they are 12 hours away!
Now I will have to begin the modification process LOL I cant wait!!! for the price that I got the truck for I can easily stomach the mods that i want to over the next couple of months
