I kinda want something in the way of a metal can, especially being under the truck exposed even if it is tucked up to the frame. A pic of someone's would be helpful since I'm more of a visual type person. Especially for the filter media inside, don't know what to use?

I would run everything myself but wouldn't mind just getting a pre made metal can. I think a PVC can is kinda chinsy and don't want one only truck. Plus with being kinda a perfectionist who knows how long it would take me to fab something up :/

Filter media could be aluminum drill press/ lathe shavings

Sweet my dad works at a machine shop! How do you keep the shavings in the housing without blowing out of the can and back into the intake?

I used 2 1/2 inch exhaust tubing, stainles steel pot scrubber pads, some stainless steel fine metal mess screen and a mig welder to make mine. Although it did take me several hours to get it the way I wnated.
