Cooling system pressure?

So how much pressure should there be in the cooling system. I had the stuff laying around to put a gauge on the coolant system. I took it down the highway and beat the hell out of it and this is as high as it got.

This pic was taken at a stoplight on the way back to the house.

I took it home and vented the cap and took it back out and beat on it some more and it did the same thing. It seems like the pressure drops to 10 when you punch the throttle then when you let off it slowly climbs back up to 12.5 or so.

I saw a few dried up spots of coolant around the cap and couldn't remember if I had cleaned it off after the shop had it.

Ok well you can get the coolant checked for exhaust gasses. That's a for sure way to see if you have a problem
