CAC

On a trip from Virginia Beach, VA to Morehead City, NC and back, my truck started shaking and sputtering. There was a TSB put out by Ford about this. Stating that the CAC would build up water after running at a steady state during cold damp weather, I had Ford replace the charge air cooler with the new updated CAC. I had the same problem this weekend. Does anyone know of a real fix for this? Thanks in advance.

Are you sure the problem is the intercooler? Are you losing coolant? Can you pull off the intercooler pipes and see if there is moisture?

04hdfatboy - I have check and doupe checked to make sure I am not losing coolant. I pulled the hose off the CAC and had water inside the CAC. These is what the TSB replacing the CAC was supposed to fix. This is the seconded time this has happened after changing out the CAC.

Well thats good that you are not using coolant. Ill check and see if there is a more recent TSB. From what i have read the updated CAC usually fixes that problem of condensation in the intercooler.

Maybe try upgrading to a 3" aftermarket CAC?
