1st oil analysis by BlackStone Labs
So here's my first oil analysis by blackstone for this truck.. I'm no oil specialist, but from what the fellow said everything looks good.. What have your analysis's looked like? Similar? Not even close? Anything I should be concerned about pertaining to this report?

So are you running it the oil to 12,000 miles this go around? This is a great tool, can certainly save some money on oil changes being able to stretch it like that

Don't mean to hijack but do you guys benefit from oil analyses? I'm considering doing it, is it worth the money? I want this truck to live strong till 100k when I will finally delete!

I think it is. Its nice to know how the engine is operating. Especially if your not deleted. You will want to watch for coolant and fuel in the oil.
Definately worth the cash. |

Here's my last 3... i was having an issue with fuel in the oil.. and i've been deleted.. i'm not sure if its from all the short trips i take. my truck sometimes doesn't get up to temp just driving to and from work.
I dropped of the 84K oil off yesterday @ the post office headed to blackstone. oil had 5k miles on it, i still just dont know about running 7500 miles yet on an oil change.

Looks fine to me. I wouldnt be to concerned. Im always a little hesitant to run oil past 10k. Ive never run my oil longer than 7.5k on this truck, and that was with synthetic. I use it to hard to not go ahead and give it fresh oil.

Looks like a good report. I change my oil every 5,000 just for piece of mind!

And ya with an oil change running about $100 it really does pay to be able to stretch my oil changes.Quote:
