No need to be scared man. The 6.4 is actually a beast of a truck. There are a few things that you can do to pretty much bulletproof it.

1. Intake (S&B or AFE)
2. Tuner (H&S or Spartan)
3. Exhaust (anything to get rid of the DPF. I have a 4" downpipe and 5" straightpipe exhaust)

That's all that is required to make your truck run great. Just keep an easy right foot and run a mid power tune and your truck should be fine. Just be sure to do maintenance (fuel filters, oil changes and drain the water separator).

If you want to do more:
4. Airdog or FASS fuel filter
5. Coolant filter
6. CCV Mod
7. CAC pipe replacement

I also firmly believe that my traction bars are what will save my transmission!
