Black smoke question-

Ok right into another question haha. I have the Mini Maxx and run the "mild" setting and I don't blow any smoke but when I turn it up to "hot" and get on it it still doesn't really blow any smoke clears right up bout instantly. Not that I want to drive around a smoke show just thought it should have more fuel pushed and more smoke at a higher tune. Somedays I miss my 24v lol. Is it the smaller turbo that pretty much eliminates all smoke? I do see quite a few pics with 6.4 dumping smoke and sometimes I just wanna do that but seems like its not possible.. Any input? Be easy if its dumb.. Still learning these new age diesels. The power is sick! Nothing like the torque of a 6.4 pull.

Did you adjust your low boost fueling when you downloaded the tuning onto the truck? Default is 3 if you didn't. 0 would be the least and 5 is the most.

Walmart bag over your air intake and rubber tires in the bed with diesel fuel on them and lit on fire. As much black smoke as you could ever want!

I dont condone smoking but like he said the low boost fueling controls that. lower the fueling the less smoke but usually gets better mpg's because your not dumping fuel in there without the turbos spooled up. higher the fueling the more smoke, worse mpg etc. I hate how h&s has that when your tuning your truck it asks you about Low boost fueling and explains it as less smoke or more smoke so most people are gonna crank that baby up. i have my low boost fueling set at one and run on mild on the HD300 tunes and it will still smoke a puff if you get on it and it has a haze. nothing like them dodge boys going around lugging the truck so they smoke

You shouldn't have to crank it up to LBF 5 to get smoke when you step on it. Are you running the HD300 on Hot? I don't like smoking that much either but when I step on mine and it's in 2nd or 3rd gear the darn thing smokes like an old freight train. I have the factory exhaust but I'm deleted and running the HD300 on Hot. And my LBF is set at 3.

When I first got my mini I was constantly switching tunes and low boost fuel levels. I got way more smoke with it on 5 than 0. I eventually settled on 1. If I really step on it I also get smoke but nothing like number 5
