Gear Vendors

Does anyone have a gear vendors unit on an 08? I talked to GV's and they said they have sold quite a few for F450's. Some were put on while the dealer owned them. I'm curious to know real world milage gains from a truck with one and what gears your truck has. I have heard from one person on another forum who has one on an f450 and his MPG at 70MPH went from 10.5 to 15+ unloaded with 4.88 gears.
Any real world info would be great.
FYI the unit is $2995 plus 50 for shipping. You also have to get your drive shaft shortened and balanced so that will be a couple hundred more I would guess.

Hey Mike, here is an auction # to check out..(Item number: 270178061567) This guy has one on an 08 F450. You can try and email him to see what his actual mileage was. I would be interested in knowing as well so please post it if you get in touch with him. He posted some good info in the auction.
I happened to notice a GV unit laying in the bed of a fellow workers Dodge truck. I asked him how he liked it and he said it worked great. His truck was beat to death and the unit had over 120K on it. He took it out because he said the clutch packs were starting to slip alittle going over the mountains in Colorado.(He was working on a pipeline there and had to drive over the mountain every day, plus alot of off road 4x4ing) Judging by his truck and the way he drives it, I'd say the GV units are pretty tough and it looked well designed. He said he never had any issues with it. Just FYI.

Thanks for the info. I'm not familiar with the "auction #". What is that? I'm on the fence right now and might just by one for the heck of it and try it. I will post any real world numbers I get from the other forums as well.

The auction is on ebay. Enter that # in the search box and the auction will come up. Since you're not that familiar with ebay, I'll send the guy an email and see if I can find out what kind of fuel mileage he got with the GV unit.
