Permatex RTV Blue for intake elbow?
So I got an intake elbow off of ebay for about $100. It was aluminum not stainless steel and did not come with the O ring but the description said I could use the one from the stock egr. Well the groove circumference was smaller than the stock one. I really wanted to use it since I probably couldn't return it since I bought it months ago. I had some permatex rtv blue and thought what the hell? Any reason this would be a problem? After getting it all back together it seems ok so far. Another problem with it is that is is taller than it should be and even after grinding the heck out of the radiator support, it is still really tight in there. A word to the wise, go with the brand names by the reputable places and spend once. The cac tube that I used was the Flo-Pro and not sure if that may have contributed to the fitment issue.

I am no expert but i would guess as long as there are no issues and no boost leaks it should be ok.

I don't know who makes it. It was sold by ETD Motors on ebay.

That's probably the same one. The Ebay seller was ETD motors but when the packege came it said cxracing. They give you a silicone boot and two cheap clamps but no o ring or two shorts screws. I am running my truck now and made it work. If I were to do it over I would get something else. Good luck.

On all of my DSM's and Evo's I always used the gray rtv. It held up great up to 40psi on a PTE 6262.
