Fuel cooler coolant and nitrates...

Is it needed to maintain nitrate levels in the ford yellow or "gold" coolant in the fuel cooler...if so my math says it takes 1oz of DCA4 per ~30-31 oz of yellow coolant (quart-ish) to bring it to within spec (if nitrates are in the 300-800ppm range)...so does this sound right? Can't find a solid answer on this...

Thanks in advance...

Sean

yea i would get the orange coolant out. It should either be the ford gold or elc red. The nice thing about the cat elc is no nitrates or silicates.

Probably not without having it tested by a lab.

Called the dealership, they used prestone universal extended life antifreeze...so I think I am good, besides the fact I need to add some dca4 to bring it into spec....
