DPF Removed now what? (I have the edge evolution 15004)

Ok I know I have read that the edge or evolution rather is not good. But it is all I that I have money for at the moment. Tomorrow morning I am to get the DPF removed. But what do I do when they remove it?

Do I have to do a custom tune. I have it on Economy right now.

you need a tuner that has dpf delete tunes. IDK if the edge has them. Find that out first before you pull the dpf.

I ran an edge evolution for 35,000kms with no issues so I wouldn't say it's no good. Mine treated me well. Only reason I switched was because I wanted to do an egr delete. I would just run the evolution. I had the 15500 but I believe that one is the same just the hp levels are different.

Yeah that sucks. I didn't really know what to look for. Got it for $175 on Craigs list. Thought that was good deal. Would I see any fuel mileage improvements with the programmer only? I was supposed to get my dpf taken off in the morning but I guess I will have to hold off on that now.

Without removing the dpf I doubt you will see any improvement. I'm not 100% sure on that though. You could try it I guess since you have it. Another option since you already have something for guages would be to look into a used xrt pro by h&s. You could use it for loading the tunes and use the edge for monitoring. You can probably find a good deal used somewhere.

Thanks for the info. I have one more question. I am going to sell this edge.

I found an sct livewire that is for my truck for $300.00 Only problem is it is 70 miles from me. I am supposed to get my dpf done this morning. Would it be possible for me to get the dpf removed and the drive the 70 miles to pick up the programmer?

Reason I ask is because the place that does the dpf is local where i am at and the guy with the programmer is far away. I also drive over the road so I would not be coming back through the area.
