Kind of a newbie

Hey guys, just thought I'd say hi. After selling my 7.3 about a year ago, last Friday I was able to get a 08 f350 lariat with 70 thousand k. Needless to say I'm a very happy camper I will be doing a DPF delete but have to wait 3 years for warranty to run out as my dealer is not mod friendly. But so I love this truck and runs awesome !!!

Delete anyway. You will regret it in the long run.

If its an extended warranty they usually arent worth the paper they are printed on.

Congrats on the new truck though!

Spunky, which warranty is it?

There are certain things you can do with each warranty and still keep the coverage. I hope it's at least a Ford warranty and not an aftermarket one.

Other than that, let us (me) know which it is and I can tell you what you can probably do.

Which one? Ford offers 6 levels of extended warranties. There is no such thing as a "full" extended warranty through Ford that I know of.

DieselCare
DieselCare Plus
PremiumCare
ExtraCare
BaseCare
PowertrainCare

Then, they can be for various lengths of time from 1-7 years.

Depending on which one you have, you may or may not be able to go ahead and mod your truck.

Well I never saw the diesel warranty in the options they should me. But I believe it was the premium care plus it was called. Was like 5,500 bucks , 3 years or 60,000 k

That sounds exactly like PremiumCare. Thanks.

So, with that in mind, don't bother touching your truck. Everything on it is covered by that warranty (well, just about everything).

The most important thing to do now is keep track of your oil and fuel filter changes (and receipts) and make sure they're Motorcraft only. Keep additives in your fuel and buy from high volume fuel stations. If they detect bad fuel and you're coming in for a powertrain-related warranty, they will deny it.

I noticed from readings that yea fuel is a huge problem. I looks like petro-can and esse are the only gas stations that don't run a bio diesel mix. And yea the oil changes and filter changes will all be done at ford. What type of additives are we talking about for the fuel?
