Need your serious opinion!

Okay guys I'm looking into getting new truck, right now I have a 1997 7.3 powerstroke. I really like the truck I have now I'm just looking for more power and towing capability. I know most of your going to say to keep the 7.3 but I don't wanna spend 10,000+ dollars to get over 350 400 horsepower. So what im looking into getting is an 06 or 07 6.0 or 2009-2010 6.4 my limit is about 30 to 32,000 dollars. I know they both have their problems but I'm willing to do it takes to bulletproof either motor . Of course I would do the Egr delete on both and the DPF delete on the 6.4 and then head studs eventually on either. So just wondering what you guys think on what I should do in this situation. Thanks!

Ive been told by many to get a dmax or cummins but im for life

If you have 30k to spend skip the 6leaker and get the 6.4. To make a 6leaker reliable takes alot more money than a 6.4. A 6.4 is good to go with just a tuner, dpf delete, and egr. The 6.0 can be a strong reliable truck, but it takes alot more time, effort, and money to do so.

If all you're looking for is a bulletproof 400 HP truck, get a 6.4.

Delete the EGR and DPF
Put on a tuner with a small tune

You shouldn't need headstuds or anything major at that power level. Just regular maintenance.

Sit back and enjoy.

Agreed with above and I have seen some really nice 6.4s on here for sale in your price range.

for that price range you should be able to find a fully loaded 64 with low miles in excellent condition. ive seen bulletproofed 60s in the high teens and low twenties in good shape if you really prefer.

Mechanically and for reliability the 6.4 is the obvious choice. But also most people prefer the newer interior and the cab of a 6.4 is much quieter which is nice (sometimes)

+1 for the 6.4. You should be able to find a nice one in your budget. I got lucky and got a steal on an 08 KR 4x4 with just under 60k miles for $28.5k out the door.

I would also suggest looking thru the classifieds on the forum. There are a lot of nice trucks there.
