What exactly is covered up to 100k?
Hey guys, I am just curious as to what exactly is covered in the 100k warranty. I popped the hood today of the truck ( it was still hot) and noticed that the degas bottle was low on coolant..
I have a couple of questions..... 1) How low does the bottle get when the truck is still hot? 2) There are no leaks, that I can see, so if it is a front cover problem or a HG problem will this be covered in the 100k warranty? Thanks Alonzo |

it would be covered after your diagnostic unless they can prove abuse ...
but the level on these fluctuates and even to this day I will look at mine sometimes and go "oh chit" because it looks low ,, but after it cools it is fine |

ok cool... well i just bought the truck about 3 weeks ago and it is still stock. I will look tomorrow morning after the truck sits over night and see where the coolant level is at. Thanks for your help!!

1) typically, as the truck heats up, heat causes the liquids to expand; therefore the fluid level is higher than when cold. In my truck, the level rises about an inch to 1.5" when warm and overnight cools back down. Some of the guys put a small magic marker line on their degas to monitor levels. I personally don't want permanent any markings on my degas so I have put a small strip of duck/electric tape before. 2) Head gaskets--if you are not tuned or you have a mod friendly dealer--HG are covered under 100K mile warranty. hope that helps. |
