Dumb question? wastegate/ blow off valve

Do these trucks come with anything from factory to release the boost? Idk if my truck has something on it or not but when i hit 20psi plus and let off it sounds like a blow off valve opens or something to dump the boost. Is this normal for a tuned deleted truck? still kinda new to diesels.

Your 6.0 has no blow off valve or waste gate. The boost is regulated by the position of the vanes in the turbine housing. Do a search for VGT or unison ring to see how it works.

I'm sorry, I looked at your profile and saw an 06 350 and assumed that is what you were asking about. I am not 100% sure on a 6.4 so I'm going to keep my mouth shut to prevent me from looking even more dumb than I do now.

no bov. it could be compressor surge youre hearing. i come from turbo charged ricers and they come with factory bovs even if theyre barely making 14 psi. funny i thought the egr valve looked similar to a 1g dsm stock bov.

most stock bovs make a swoosh, honk, or chirp. i havent heard a fart and barely a gasp outta the 64 but i rarely ever get on it.

there are bov kits for the 64. might prove to be useful if youre on the pedal a lot. maybe even a wastegate if youre running hi psi.
