Possible first time diesel owner

Hi guys. I have been doing a lot reading on this site and really looking forward to purchasing a new to me 08-up f-250. I do have a few questions that I can't seem to find a concrete answer to.

1. This will be my first diesel. I am looking at the 08 and up 6.4 because from what I can gather, those seem to have much less problems than the 6.0 out of the box and I really like the exterior/interior over the competitors.

2. As of right now, I don't have any toys to pull with a truck but look to getting some in the future. How well do these trucks do with just light duty daily driving and home depot runs? I am a pretty conservative driver (already own a sports car) but I like the idea of being able to add a little perfomance/MPG with a tuner and/or dpf delete.

3. Most of the trucks in my price range seem to have anywhere from 70,000 to 150,000 mile with most hovering around the 100k mark. Should I be concerned that the owners are just dumping their lemons as soon as the warranty is about to/has run out or should I view at as the truck has proved itself thus far and is probably ok.

well item on #3 if it has a good number of miles on it that means it was on teh road in use not sitting in a shop. Also take the VIN #'s and any Ford dealer can get you an Oasis report that will tell you what service has been done to the truck. And lastly, if it's at a dealer, ask if you can get the PO phone number and ask them about the truck, if they aren't the one selling they aren't out anything by being honest with you about it.
I just bought my truck last week with 110k on it, I got to talk to the PO and had the oasis, and took a scan tool with me on the test drive. After buying it I had 320+ miles to get home, so far I love it.
