My 1st 6.4

Just picked up this Bad Boy last week and I'm in LOVE!!! It has 90k miles which I dont "think" is too many miles for this model. My last truck was a 96 F250 7.3 and woah what a difference. So far I have given it a fresh oil change and fresh fuel filters. The dang fuel release flang/lever under the truck broke on me while replacing the filters. I went a head and removed the lower filter anyways and of course made a big diesel mess....oh well it seems to have worked regardless. Any tips/advice would be much appreciated. I also noticed it smokes like a train when I hit the gas hard on take offs. Is that due to the AFE intake it has or a DPF problems? Thanks In Advance!

Does it still have the DPF? my truck before i removed the dpf would never smoke even with the 120 H&S tune. Good looking truck btw good luck with it.

Yup I looked under the truck this weekend while changing the filter it still has the cat and dpf in place.

Nah I don't mind....I thought it was a "fair" price $29,500 out the door.

If it is smoking with the DPF on, the DPF might be cracked. I would suggest just doing a DPF/DoC delete and tune ASAP. It will be like awakening a sleeping beast, make your truck more reliable, and much more efficient.

If you are in an area that doesnt have emission testing i would also remove the DPF/DOC and the EGR system. You will need a tuner such as the minimaxx to do this. Intake, exhaust, egr delete and programmer and you are set!
