what to do?

hey everyone. i currently have a 2000 f250 crew with the 7.3 auto. the truck has 4 inch lift with 315s 4" catback exhaust k+n filter with a dp tuner chip. i bought it with 80k miles it currently has 164k on the orignal 4r100. did i mention that it has had a snowplow on it since it was new. so lately i've noticed some pretty good rust bubbles coming out on the rear fenders as well as the driver side rocker panel. the bed supports/crossmembers are rusted out also so it will need a new bed and i'm thinking it's gonna need a trans update before too long. last week i came across a possible replacment it's an 08 350 crew 6.4. it has 100k 315s exhaust with dpf delete and a tuner as well as some other goodies that i can't remember right now. the truck is pretty sweet the price is good and i think he will take my truck in trade. my question is can i trust a 08 with a 6.4? i haven't been keeping up with powerstroke news lately so i don't know what the issues with the 6.4 are. i know the 7.3 is a super motor and it runs fine the truck goes good but looking at what it's going to cost me for a new bed and to have the rockers repaired the paint to make it look like i want it i'm going to have a minimum of 3k. then if the trans poops out another couple grand on a truck that will not be worth what i have in repairs. i know there are no guarantees with any used trucks but i don't want to make a 20k mistake on a truck that's just going to have constant problems.
