Things to do on my first diesel.

Hey guys im going to be getting my first diesel truck and its going to be a 08-10 cc sb 250 4x4 lariat, after driving half ton Chevy's my entire life im ready for a change and im pretty excited about things that I can do to it.

Im not buying this truck to pull really at all. It will just be my daily driver and im looking to get some better mileage and just make it preform better.

My questions for yall are im going to spend about 2500 on it right after I get it and im wondering what I should do. Id really like to increase the gas mileage what I can with that.( I know theres a ton of threads on this but I didnt want to scroll through them for hours) So what would yall recommend I do first thing?

Thanks guys!

about $1500 will get you an intake, tuner and exhaust. Run the hotter tunes but keep your foot off the skinny pedal and you will get close to 20MPG. Just keep the truck under 2000rpms, and boost low on the freeway and you will do alright with mileage. But as soon as you get into the hard accelerations (which I promise are hard to stay away from), or if you do a lot of start and stops (getting these heavy vehicles moving takes a lot of fuel) will cut your MPGs a lot...

I suggest either the H&S or Spartan tuner, and just get a basic DPF/DoC delete pipe, an S&B intake, and if you are feeling up to it get an EGR delete and you will have a great truck that will be efficient and dependable.

Also a downpipe isn't a bad idea to add to the MOD list.

If you have some extra money left over after, add a coolant filter, oil bypass, and a AirDog Fuel Pump. It'll make it a lot more dependable.

You didn't say if you were worried about warranty or not.
