Exhaust Mod and new Program coming from Ford?

Regards Fuel Economy, the Importer here in Oz (Australia) seems to have an inside man, and indicates an exhaust Mod coming with a new Program for the Mid 08's that will improve fuel economy... Is this old news? No news?

What do you hear there about a Ford change from mid 08's???
Something in the pipeline? Or already happened?

There was a thread about a new 08 without the DPF. Not sure how much info there is on it though.

Alright Stumpy, I'm dying to ask... Since you are online in the middle of the night, what is the 0331 about? Some Marine Corps service number or something like that?

Or some new high octane beer and injector cleaner ???

He's been trying to find an "OFF ROAD" only 08 like those they use in Mining and such around here -- b/c supposedly they come with NO emmissions stuff (DPF/CAT) and are programmed from the factory NOT to go into regen -- which automatically gives MUCH better mileage as Julian is seeing 23 MPG on the hwy...

I don't think its too far from the truth -- and depending on the AU laws which are likely not the same as US laws -- I don't doubt its untrue

Yes, there is programming for the 6.4 that does not have a regen for said "offroad" vehicles and the exhaust is normal.

Guys,
He seemed to be talking about the road runner... Not an off road mining non registered vehicle... This was a solution by Ford for the mileage, and he was talking about a new program and exhaust mod was in the works. We will not get Australian Compliancing til maybe March April, and this was for trucks ordered after that???? Mid 08 build dates... ???

Don't know if this is true insider information, or pipe dream, can't tell you... Just have to wait I guess, but it sounded good

On another note: 0331, MOS.... Stumpy, cool, very cool... Some guys get to play with all the fun toys... We get rotating plagues of goats, pigs, roos, and occassionally rabbits here that have to be shot... You could have some real fun out the back of the F-350...
